We are inviting applications to be a part of our pioneering school, serving in our Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications position. Under guidance of the Senior Director, Marketing & Communications, this person will manage the development and implementation of the department's various projects. They will also act as a point of contact for internal clients and external production vendors, and assist with content development where necessary. Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $71,000.00 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected candidate's experience)

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Six years of marketing and/or communication experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends throughout the year

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in marketing, communications, or public relations

  • Experience building and maintaining processes and systems to support marketing and communications efforts

  • Some prior supervisory experience

  • Experience customizing and build-out of project management platforms/systems

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications preferred

  • Proficiency with marketing, CRM and CMS platforms (HubSpot or similar)

  • Proficiency with communications, project management and collaboration platforms (similar to Trello, Wrike, Monday, MS Teams, Slack, etc.)

  • Knowledge of social media management best practices and tools

  • Ability to own projects, while cheerfully collaborating and adjusting to shifting priorities

  • Pay attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Direction and Implementation - Participates in developing departmental marketing and communication strategic plans based on department goals. Plans the marketing and communication budget under the Senior Director's supervision. Participates in planning, directing, and coordinating marketing and communication related operational or procedural matters to meet department goals and objectives. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates marketing and communication programs. Develops reports, analyses, and surveys as requested by the Senior Director. Oversees the development and implementation of marketing and communications projects such as traditional and digital marketing campaigns, reputation management, media/PR, social media planning and implementation, events, etc. Establishes and maintains processes, systems and workflows to ensure cohesive operations within the department and in cohesion with the strategic priorities of the law school. Conducts data analysis of marketing efforts and makes recommendations to ensure effectiveness.

  • Client/Vendor Management - Serves as a point of contact for internal client relations. Oversees scheduling, coordination, and implementation of requests from across the school’s faculty and various departments. Oversees internal and external partners such as designers, illustrators, writers, and developers. Oversees the work, evaluates vendors, negotiates rates, makes purchases, and makes decisions on design, costs, etc.; this includes conferring with the Senior Director, Deans, faculty and other staff regarding all aspect of the projects.

  • Content development and support - Contributes to content development (writing, designing, producing) when necessary to ensure timely execution and quality. Handles special projects as assigned by the Senior Director. Supports event management and external relations staff and projects as necessary, which includes communications and promotion planning for events, communications planning for external relations, and direct involvement in events and dealing with the various audiences. As necessary, supports internal (faculty, staff, student) communications, which includes helping plan, manage, and implement communications for departments on campus. These departments may include IT, HR, Student Affairs, the Dean's office, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
