Job Description

The Assistant Director, LLM & Global Programs is responsible for the day-to-day operations related to the recruitment, enrollment, onboarding, student advising and programming of the LLM program.  Responsibilities around the LLM program include but are not limited to the implementation of our recruitment and enrollment strategy, serving as a key liaison with our international program partners, planning and running orientation, thoughtfully appointing each LLM student to a faculty advisor and assisting them in their course selection process so that their academic goals can be achieved. Other responsibilities include supporting the Faculty Director in the planning of the annual LL.M conference and other ad hoc projects. 

In addition, the position supports the Law School's JD students that are interested in participating in one of our exchange programs. This includes organizing and running information sessions for BC JD students who are interested in studying abroad.  This role is also responsible for supporting exchange students that are studying at BC Law and ensuring that they have a successful experience.  As part of this role the Assistant Director is responsible for monitoring existing MOU's, updating them as appropriate, and serving as a liaison with our partner exchange schools.

This Assistant Director is responsible for administering our visiting scholar's program with the goal of ensuring that it is best in class and our visiting scholars are supported during their time at Boston College Law School.

The Assistant Director reports directly to the LL.M program’s Faculty Director by providing critical operational and administrative support to the program. The role also interacts heavily with the Associate Dean of Finance & Operations and the Associate Dean of Faculty and International Programming.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $61,650 to $77,050; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

  • Three years of academic administrative experience is required
  • Experience working with international programs is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of admissions experience.
  • Knowledge of international programs, international credentials, immigration requirements, test scores, and legal education is also strongly preferred.
  • A post-baccalaureate degree is preferred (an MA, MEd, or JD)
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with faculty and other staff members and to think strategically when implementing global initiative goals.
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and to be able to react and adjust quickly and strategically to changing demographics, requirements, and standards.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required
  • Strong organizational skills are required and the ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • This is an administrative role with no teaching responsibilities
