About the Department

The Carl H. Lindner College of Business Office of Inclusive Excellence is currently accepting applications for Assistant Director.  The Office of Inclusive Excellence is dedicated to promoting a culture of belonging in Lindner and to supporting students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.  Additionally, the office engages all member of the Lindner community in promoting the values of diversity, equity and inclusion. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
 


Job Overview

The Lindner Office of Inclusive Excellence is seeking a dynamic and engaging individual to lead the office’s flagship program, Business Fellows.  Business Fellows supports African American, Latino, and Native American students as they transition from high school to Lindner.  This wrap-around program includes a curricular component, mentorship, student travel experiences, and direct connection to corporate partners and employers.  

 

The Assistant Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program as well as serve as the liaison to community and corporate stakeholders and alumni who support Business Fellows.  

 

The Assistant Director will coordinate with college and university partners to ensure that members of the Business Fellows program are supported academically, professionally, and socially.  

 

Additionally, the Assistant Director will serve as a liaison to our Lindner Inclusion Partners, which are Lindner student organizations that are identity based or inclusion focused (e.g., Lindner Women in Business).   

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule pending department approval. The initial appointment for this position will be for two (2) years and will be considered for extension based on performance and business need. 


Essential Functions
  • Communicate and assist students, parents, corporate partners; resolve questions and complex issues; represent the university internally and externally.
  • Serve at various universities, division and departmental committees and may represent the department at various state and national associations; may function for the Assistant Dean in his absence, as required.
  • May be responsible for collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units (i.e., Public Relations, Academic Colleges, Foundation, etc.) to enhance business/community partnerships.
  • Teach (or co-teach) the required transitions course for incoming first-year Business Fellows.
  • Convene and advise the Business Fellows student executive board.
  • Lead the planning and logistics of program signature events such as Talent Preview and The Toast, among others.
  • Collaborate with the Lindner Office of Admissions to recruit students to the program.
  • Coordinate engagement opportunities for Business Fellows with prospective employers and corporate partners. 
  • Lead domestic or international travel experiences for the program.
  • Select and coordinate office social media interns.
  • Administer the Lindner Inclusion Partner application process.
  • Serve as a liaison to Lindner Inclusion Partner student organizations, which includes, but is not limited to, promotion of their events, assistance in purchasing and reimbursements, reserving space in Lindner Hall for events. 
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with five(5) years experience; -OR-Associate's degree with seven (7) years experience; -OR-nine (9) years experience. Degree must be in a related field; experience must be related.
  • Experience also requires at least three (3) years supervision.
