The Division of Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness at Texas A&M University has an opportunity for an Assistant Director, that will continue our service-oriented, people forward changes for how we deliver support to our customers via the service HUBs. The Human Resources, Assistant Director will be based at the Texas A&M School of Dentistry, located in Dallas, TX, and also support the Texas A&M School of Law, located in Fort Worth, TX. The position is a great opportunity for a service-oriented, forward thinker who desires to bring their broad HR experience to plan, direct, develop, and lead all human resources functions and the HR Generalist teams at multiple locations in the DFW area.  Exceptional care is taken to ensure the right development opportunities are planned to advance your career.

Opportunities to contribute:

  • Provide guidance to departments and management regarding HR practices, compliance, laws, regulations and ethics

  • Research and complete various projects, as requested by HR Leadership

  • Assist in developing strategic plans for the Human Resources unit

  • Oversee and manage training and specialized training programs

  • Manage and approve actions in HRIS (Workday) and troubleshoot and resolve issues

  • Advise staff on processes and procedures

  • Supervise and train staff

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications for this position includes: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as an additional six years of related HR experience and HR Management experience including supervision of other HR professionals.

A well-qualified candidate for this position would possess the following: Bachelor’s in Human Resources or closely related field; More than 6-10 years of broad Human Resources experience covering areas such as benefits, payroll, recruitment, employee relations, onboarding and class & comp including leading and developing other HR professionals and maintaining productive business partnerships with location leadership.  Experience with Workday or a related Human Capital Management system a plus.
