Job Summary
Works under the
direction of the Director, Veteran and Military Affairs in the planning and
execution of daily activities, enrollment outreach, representation at
professional functions, and associated support projects. Provides program assistance
to a staff consisting of eight full-time, and 17 part-time employees working
from two campus locations (Hattiesburg and Long Beach). Coordinates with the
Director in preparing long term strategies to sustain operations and achieve enrollment,
retention, and sustainment goals. Responsible for ensuring enrollment, student retention
and scholarship goals (as they relate to Veterans, Active Duty/National Guard/Reserve
Component Service Members, and Military Family Members) are met through
available resources. Assists the
Director in aligning program with the University and Student Affairs mission
and goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with Military Veteran status (must present a DD Form 214 proof of Honorable Service.) At least 2-years of experience in Enrollment Recruitment strategies with at least 1-year of experience with Military and/or Veteran related programs.

- Demonstrates the ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner and provide quality feedback.
- Ability to read, comprehend and prepare executive level correspondence.
- Ability to travel (via automobile or air) out-of-state and lodge overnight.
- Demonstrates an openness and flexibility towards new ideas and concepts and effectively influences or facilitates during times of change.
- Helps others become more effective through development and coaching.
- Leverages professional expertise and University knowledge to assess areas of opportunity, identify solutions and effectively execute the plan.
- Demonstrates a high level of planning and organizational skills and the ability to move projects forward to completion.
- Thinks strategically and seeks to align department services and goals with institutional strategic goals.
- Analysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited Institution of Higher Learning and two years recruiting-related experience with knowledge and skills in Veterans Affairs Benefits and Marketing/Media planning.
