East Carolina University is a public doctoral/research university in Greenville, North Carolina, with an enrollment of nearly 29,000 students. It is the third largest university in North Carolina. ECU offers 87 bachelor’s degree programs, 69 master’s degree programs, 13 research doctoral degrees, 5 professional doctoral degrees, the Brody School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine.
The School of Music, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, has an enrollment of over 250 music majors and minors with over 50 faculty and staff. The school is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
Job Duties
This position is responsible for coordinating graduate and undergraduate music recruitment, auditions, and admissions.
This position will communicate closely and effectively with a diverse pool of potential students and parents regarding auditions, admissions, scholarships, and graduate assistantships. This position will also direct music information sessions during Open Houses and Admitted Student Days, Pirates Aboard and other recruitment events, some of which may include overnight travel; develop advertising and social media strategies for recruitment; maintain School admissions records and database; as well as coordinate, direct and lead our Freshman Seminar (MUSC 1000).
This position is also expected to organize special events including Graduation recognition, periodic General Recitals and the annual Concerto Competition. This position will work closely with a diverse faculty and staff in the School including: Graduate Program Director, Academic Advisor, and Communications Director.
This position will serve as a liaison to implement policies and procedures and facilitate cooperative working relationships with various departments, offices and committees on campus including Admissions, Registrar, Housing and the Honors College, as well as assist in facilitating a positive image of the School and serve as an advocate for the students and faculty.
This position will work on a flexible schedule including overnight travel and weekend events.
Minimum Education/Experience
Post-Baccalaureate degree required and 1 year of relevant experience; or a relevant undergraduate degree and 3 years relevant experience in substitution. 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Advanced music credential or equivalent musical experience. 
Experience with collegiate music admissions, student services and/or arts administration.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.
Commitment to working closely with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
