Equal Opportunity Programs (EOP), part of the Office of the Provost, has University-wide responsibility that includes coordinating compliance and programs in the areas of Equal Opportunity (EO), Affirmative Action (AA), unlawful discrimination and harassment prevention, accessibility, Veterans and Military-affiliated programs, and Title IX. To achieve its goals the EOP works closely with the Office of Legal Counsel, Human Resources, and Campus and Student Life in collaboration with academic and administrative leaders throughout the University. UChicago CARES, the Center for Awareness, Resolution, Education, and Support, works to prevent and respond to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct in the University community. The Center supports all members of the University community through prevention education and response to reports, through providing services, support and resources, and facilitating resolution options.


Job Summary
 

The Assistant Director for Prevention Education & Outreach, UChicago CARES oversees the implementation of the annual training on sexual misconduct awareness and prevention, assists the Director of Prevention Education and Outreach in development and implementation of educational workshops and resources, and provides high-level professional administrative support to the UChicago CARES team.
This position primarily reports to the Director of Prevention Education & Outreach, UChicago CARES and works with the Associate Provost for Equal Opportunity Programs and the Executive Director for UChicago CARES on the implementation of the training program.

Responsibilities

Lead operational execution of online sexual misconduct awareness and prevention training, including: (30%)

  • Work with the third-party training provider to coordinate online training assignments for students, faculty and staff.

  • Utilize Workday human resource systems to pull reports.

  • Respond to inquiries and troubleshoot issues with vendor representative.

  • Track staff and faculty compliance and prepare reports.

  • Schedule in person departmental training and new hire training for faculty.

Assists the Director, Prevention Education & Outreach, in research, development and implementation of educational workshops and resources related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct awareness and prevention, including the Resources for Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP). (60%)

  • Assist in developing, expanding and implementing sexual violence prevention education that will enhance and supplement the student experience through events, trainings, and programs.

  • Assists with coordinating the schedules and agendas for campus-wide committee meetings, including the Campus Partner Task Force (CPTF).

  • Assist with developing annual RSVP awareness month campaigns for campus community.

  • Research to develop new content, update existing curricula and stay current on best practices in prevention education and peer education in higher education.

  • Update promotional and marketing information (e.g. , one-Pagers) for events, activities, and schedules to campus community.

  • Coordinate the delivery of information to students, faculty, staff and members of the community seeking prevention education presentations.

  • Maintain websites and social media for the RSVP program.

  • Research and locate assessment tools to measure and evaluate the program’s prevention initiatives.

  • Assist with utilizing assessment data to enhance trainings, presentations, and programs.

  • Provide administrative support to the RSVP program and CARES programmatic initiatives, at the direction of the Director, which may include: coordinating meeting logistics and providing program support.

  • Identify and/or develop systems to track and document all RSVP workshops and activities.

  • Coordinate logistics for RSVP Peer Educators in the HRL initiative to provide sexual violence preventions workshops throughout the academic year.

  • Manage student workers’ onboarding and training processes in Workday.

  • Assist with planning and logistics for annual RSVP Peer Educator training retreat.

Provide high-level professional administrative support at the direction of the Executive Director to the UChicago CARES team, which may include: (5%)

  • Assisting with coordinating scheduling of group meetings, travel, and special events. 

  • Coordinating meeting logistics, including room reservations, A/V needs, meeting material and presentation preparation, and catering.

  • Coordinating agendas for meetings, and attend meetings as needed to take minutes and notes.

  • Assisting with federal, state, and city compliance reporting obligations.

Assist UChicago CARES team, reporting to the Director of Prevention Education & Outreach, to enhance efforts related to prevention education and outreach, support and services, and resolution options, including coordination, research, and development of resources. (5%)

  • Plans and executes internal and external audits and activities to support regulatory agency inspections.

  • Prepares, completes and submits all compliance documentation on a routine basis. Coordinates compliance committee meetings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

  • Bachelor's degree.

Experience:

  • Experience and proficiency with software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat), proficient in maintaining websites and database systems.
