Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Develop and administer a comprehensive program of intramural sport activities designed to meet the diverse needs of the University community. Manage the operation and maintenance of the Intramural Sports Office and the Reckord Armory. Administer a summer social sports program to serve the local community.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
  • 7 years experience in collegiate or community recreation sports programs.
  • Experience scheduling and administering sport tournaments.
  • At least 2 years of experience supervising and training others.
  • Experience using IMLeagues or other sport scheduling software/web-based software applications.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilties:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through programming, mentoring, or training.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student development through programming, mentoring, or training.
Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Master’s degree and 5 years experience in collegiate or community recreation sports programs.
  • Experience supervising college student personnel.
  • Experience officiating team sports.
  • Experience training sports officials.
  • Experience using facility scheduling software (EMS).
  • Facility event management experience.
  • Experience with facility maintenance and/or facility-related project management.
Additional Certifications:
  • Willing to commit to fingerprinting and criminal background check
  • Possess (or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date) and maintain American Red Cross CPR for the Professional rescuer/AED/First Aid certification.
  • Possess (or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date) and maintain American Red Cross Instructor Certification.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $93,000 – $103,000.
Responsibilities include: Program Planning, Leadership and Administration (35%), Student Staff Training and Supervision (20%), Reckord Armory Gym Management, Maintenance, and Special Events (20%), Full-Time Staff Supervision (15%), and other related duties (10%). Some evening and weekend work required.
Full-time professional exempt staff position with full benefits. Benefits include but are not limited to: 22 days annual leave, 14 paid holidays, 3 days personal leave, 15 days sick leave; University contributions to health insurance and retirement plans; tuition remission.

Physical Demands
  • Implementation of the intramural sports program including training and evaluation of intramural sports officials occur in all kinds of weather on outdoor facilities.
  • Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required to move equipment for intramural sports activities.
  • Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
  • Other work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Frequent evening and some weekend work required.
