Job Description:

This position will oversee Residential Life's business operations including administrative support staff, purchasing, all residential technology programs, and marketing initiatives. The incumbent will provide leadership in critical and complex Residential Life functions to ensure a seamless and supportive program for residential students. This position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Residential Life.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Procure, analyze, and maintain housing program which is responsible for annual billings of over $70 million. This includes annual contract renewals of housing program.
  • Provide training for Residential Life staff on housing program.
  • Provide oversight of Residential Life administrative functions. Recruit, supervise, and train Residential Life central office support staff. Coordinate departmental purchasing.
  • Serve as technology coordinator for department.
  • Prepare Residential Life letters and notices for distribution to students on behalf of Director of Residential Life
  • Create, implement, and assess the Residential Life marketing program including digital, social, and in-person marketing efforts to educate students on Residential Life, Housing Selection, and Recess Information.
  • Provide on-duty emergency backup coverage for professional staff and students during academic year, recesses, and summer, on a rotating basis.
  • Participate in Departmental in-service training sessions.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time work experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a diverse work environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Supervisory Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in New York state purchasing, marketing, and technology
  • Master's degree in a related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Experience at an Institution of Higher Education
