Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Marketing, and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, the Assistant Director of Admissions performs significant administrative functions to accomplish recruiting and admissions objectives. The incumbent coordinates efforts with student affairs to meet the academic and organizational needs of students matriculated to the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The incumbent participates in aspects of admissions work including, but not limited to, conducting needs analysis; interviewing and counseling students and families concerning the admissions process and available options; recruitment, marketing, and evaluating candidates for the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, as well as providing support for various student activities and maintenance of student records. The Assistant Director participates in: evaluation of the credentials and learning potential of applicants seeking admissions, program and event planning and implementation; assessing, researching and benchmarking trends in and financial aid; and computerized data management, and general central office administrative duties.  
 
Travel for college visits; student interviews; inquiry/prospect management; and correspondence. The incumbent participates in aspects of student services including collection and organization of student records, monitoring academic progress, and coordinating student services between the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the University.
 
Required Qualifications:
1.     Bachelor’s degree.  
 
2.     Prior experience in an academic environment working directly with students, faculty and administration including financial aid counseling, recruitment and admissions activities, and/or programming preferred.  
 
3.     Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills.  
 
4.     Familiarity with basic computer applications for both PC and MAC and database management.  
 
5.     Familiarity with social media platforms.  
 
6.     Evening and weekend hours are required to accommodate the needs of students and provide services during peak periods.  
 
7.     Valid driver’s license, accessibility to transportation, and ability to travel locally.  Must have an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle policy.  A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university.  Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.  
 
8.     Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.  Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
