Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students, 100 PhD students, and 20 Master’s students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. Position Summary
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is one of 5 health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, and Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Experiential education, specifically early, continual and immersive clinical learning, is a hallmark and guiding principle for our PharmD curriculum. The Office of Experiential Programs complements the School’s academic mission and is responsible for (1) building and sustaining strategic partnerships for the delivery of the experiential education program; (2) creating the vision and learning outcomes for these experiences in collaboration with our experiential partners and the School; (3) forming the practice site teams needed to fully execute on implementing these experiences; (4) increasing engagement of preceptors in contemporary preceptor training and development programs; (5) collaborating with our student affairs office to provide support to our students and practice sites; (6) overseeing operations to maintain ~225 students completing practice experiences 12 months annually; and (7) assessing and sharing the results of our experiential program internally and externally. 
The Office of Experiential Programs is an extension of the Office of Professional Education. It is comprised of a number of experiential programs faculty and professional staff, each with specified areas of responsibility. The Office of Experiential Programs functions as a cohesive unit where teamwork, collaboration, and innovation are encouraged and celebrated. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is recruiting for an Assistant Director of Experiential Programs to direct clinical placement, systems management, student housing, faculty/preceptor training and financial management support services to enhance the off-campus practical learning experiences for students and clinical education faculty/preceptors. The Assistant Director of Experiential Programs reports to the Director of Experiential Programs and works with a team of employees and regional experiential faculty in reaching the goals of the unit.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.

- A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience

- Familiarity with clinical education programs and database management
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment 
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
