ASSISTANT DIRECTOR-ENGAGEMENT ALUMNI & STUDENT

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Assistant Director of Engagement for Alumni and Students for the Office of Advancement with the Alumni Affairs team. This position will manage and implement strategies and plans to interface with students and colleges.  The Assistant Director will oversee and manage the Student Alumni Society, including its leadership programming, and the Young Alumni Council.  The position will manage the NAS Scholarship program, including recruitment, selection, and distribution of Scholarships. The Assistant Director will also perform related responsibilities as assigned.

This position will report to the Director of Engagement for Alumni and Students.

This position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.

 

Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organize events to facilitate student involvement/awareness
  • Determine the effectiveness of programming and adjust accordingly
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with volunteers, board, and student leaders
  • Foster relationships with other campus offices, schools/divisions
  • Maintain information on selected alumni and prospects including contact reports in the CRM system
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Annual Salary:  $51,270 - $55,000

 

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for an extended period during an event
