Job Overview

Assist College of Law’s activities in conducting employer outreach and relationship management to achieve the College and Center for Professional Development’s placement goals.


Essential Functions
  • Conduct employer outreach with the goal of increasing employment and practice-based opportunities for law students.  Participate in activities that establish new and strengthen existing employer partnerships. 
  • Assist with planning and implementation of the On-Campus Interview Program and other career events.
  • Maintain the Center’s Contact Management System (CMS) including job postings and employer, student and alumni contacts. 
  • Enter and monitor employment data collection for reporting to external program accreditation, ranking, industry bodies, and the university. 
  • Generate CMS data reports responding to College program compliance.  
  • Maintain effective communication with employers, students and academic personnel within the College and university.
  • Periodically conduct employer needs assessment with the purpose of strengthening recruitment for students.
  • Participate in professional development activities to ensure professional growth needed to adequately meet the position needs.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience. 
  • Professional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse population of students, employers and staff.

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to deliver programs and services in a recruitment, human resources, legal practice, or higher education environment. 
  • Project management experience related to events, trainings or workshops.
  • Knowledge of legal practice settings and industry employment practices. 
  • Experience managing or working with a Contact Management System (CMS), e.g., Simplicity or 12twenty.
  • Client relationship management experience, including establishing and maintaining positive client relationships through communication planning, events or conferences. 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
