Assistant Director, Donor Engagement - Office of Advancement - Georgetown University

Job Overview

The Donor Engagement team serves as key strategic partners in the creation, planning, and execution of high net worth, high touch engagement experiences for our key prospects and donors in the form of events, regional deployments, and on-campus activities to help to promote and increase financial investments in the university’s top fundraising priorities.

The Assistant Director of Donor Engagement is responsible for the continued meaningful involvement of Georgetown’s top-level donors in the life of the university. It is only with a consistent level of high quality and thoughtful points of contact and engagement that these donors will continue to look to Georgetown as a place to give expression to their own values and philanthropic agendas.

The Assistant Director focuses on coordinating and supporting the execution of campaign and regional engagement activity related to campus units; and works closely with the campaign and regional development teams to ensure engagement activity in the area is strategic, coordinated, and supported. As well, they act as a knowledgeable ambassador, liaison, and engagement specialist to advancement personnel on the priorities, needs, and attributes of the area. They also provide cultivation and recognition assistance to individual donors and prospective donors.

Additionally, they provide central support for Campaign Events in regions as needed – and in partnership with Campaign Operations, Regional Engagement and Development colleagues, they participate in the development of an annual campaign engagement plan.

Work Interactions

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Donor Engagement, the Assistant Director of Donor Engagement collaborates internally with the unit teams within the Office of Advancement - unit development officers, data analytics team, communications, stewardship, donor events, CPRC, Regional Alumni Relations, finance, and senior Advancement leaders. They also work across the campus – with offices of the Deans, unit leaders, administrators, faculty, and staff; and externally with high level donors.
