Requirements: 

The Assistant Director must have a working knowledge of geochemistry and geochemical laboratory procedures, and must be knowledgeable of or capable of learning the operation of (LA-)ICPMS and EA-IRMS with the support of faculty/staff members and service engineers.

Significant background in isotopic geochemical research, reporting and dissemination of data, and interpretation of data (via student research or job experience) is required. Optimally this will include several years’ experience in managing a research laboratory with analytical mass spectrometry, ideally with (LA-)ICPMS and IRMS including troubleshooting, routine maintenance, software and hardware applications, as well as sample preparation for these instruments.

A doctoral degree in Earth Science, Geochemistry, Chemistry or a related field is preferred. A minimum of a master’s degree in one of the same fields is required.

Additional Information:

This is currently a grant funded position for 2 ½ years with the possibility for continued funding beyond that period.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $74,050 to $92,550; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
