Assistant Director, Audio Visual Engineering

The Assistant Director of AV Engineering provides strategic direction for the Audio Visual Engineering team. Participate in strategic planning for short and long-term service requirements and enhancements. Collaborate with key University stakeholders to assess current and future needs, aligning resources with overall university and NYU IT priorities and goals. Ensure the delivery of effective engineering by implementing a comprehensive strategy that prioritizes security, privacy, and a well-managed life cycle portfolio of classrooms, meeting rooms, and audiovisual devices across NYU and reduces the downtime of the services. Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of employees to achieve high levels of performance and productivity. Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members. Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the AV Engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related technology field
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
Required Experience:
7+ years in AV operations or engineering, including leadership and project management roles. Experience in a higher education institution.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and implementing strategic initiatives. Experience in a higher education institution. or Experience at New York University
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Design engineering understanding of QSC, Crestron, and Zoom solutions. Project management experience. Must be highly organized, detailed, and team oriented, and must have the ability to explain highly technical concepts to team members and clients in a way that is easily understandable. Must have exceptional communication skills, and the ability to motivate and manage a team in a positive and collaborative manner. Must be able to establish timelines, meet deadlines, and complete tasks efficiently and accurately

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00 to USD $140,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
