Position Title ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT
Position Summary
This position is responsible for planning and executing alumni events for alumni engagement, including on and off campus events and activities. This position is also responsible for planning events for regional and affinity groups.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience working with web programs/applications.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Ability to become authorized to operate university-owned vehicles and adhere to the university’s Operation of Motorized Utility Vehicles policy.
Demonstrated organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience, preferably in alumni relations, public relations, hospitality service, or other related fields.
Experience planning and executing in-person and virtual events in alumni relations, public relations, hospitality services, or other related fields.
Experience with event management and coordinating events.
Knowledge and use of software platforms: Fundraising Performance Management, Millennium, Blackbaud, and Thankview.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assists with alumni outreach programs and event management.
Coordinates in-person and virtual events and programs for regional networks for both out-of-state and in-state alumni groups, initiates meetings and manages expectations.
Assists with Alumni volunteer program development and implementation.
Assists with social media and webpage management and communication.
Assists with video development and design for virtual content.
Serves as a staff liaison to the National Alumni Board of Directors and assists committees as needed.
Assists advancement partners and college development officers with programming support.
Assists with major events such as Homecoming, Reunions, Alumni Awards Ceremony, Grandparents U, and Summer Golf Outings.
Represents the university and the Alumni Association and carries out such duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement.
