The Office of Graduate Studies is currently seeking a full time Assistant Director of Admissions. The Assistant Director, Admissions recruits qualified students for admission to the school in accordance with applicable internal and external policies and regulations. Moreover, the Assistant Director, Admissions oversees the management of time and inquiry resources to generate interest of target populations in programs offered by the institution.

CORE JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                                                                                                           

The Assistant Director, Admissions recruits qualified students for admission to the school in accordance with applicable internal and external policies and regulations. Moreover, the Assistant Director, Admissions oversees the management of time and inquiry resources to generate interest of target populations in programs offered by the institution.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                           

Explains educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents, and educators. Makes prompt and effective contact with inquiries and redirects unqualified candidates. Secures personally developed referrals by obtaining contact information of those that may be interested in programs offered. Schedules and conducts interviews and pursues qualified candidates for enrollment. Forecasts projected new students on a periodic basis for senior managing staff. Conducts follow-up meetings with all applicants to ensure successful matriculation. Assists other personnel and departments with data collection. Participates in recruitment and enrollment activities. Develops and implements process for collecting required documents from students, such as transcripts and certifications. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Department Specific Functions

Understands and supports all aspects of biomedical graduate recruitment and admissions, from applicant prospecting to successful matriculation, progress towards graduation, and outcomes after graduation. Knowledge of graduate admissions operations including daily workflow and compliance requirements for federal, local and University policies. Establishes short and long-term goals to enhance graduate recruitment and outreach based on enrollment data and trends. Engages in and supports all levels of marketing strategies and initiatives, including websites and social media, to enhance admissions and graduate education visibility. Oversees management of student data and outcomes, including headshots, progress in their programs, graduation and alumni tracking Able to establish and manage beneficial partnerships with constituents across the university with offices such as Canes Central, the Graduate School, Registrar, Student Accounts, and Student Financial Assistance.  Able to support and liaison with the Sr. Program Coordinator for Admissions and student employees such as graduate assistants and office workers. Ability to support and attend university related conferences or recruitment events. Supports the training of the Miller School of Medicine graduate programs staff internal and external to the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) to ensure alignment with policies and laws related to admissions and enrollment. Other duties as assigned.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS  

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Understands enrollment management, admissions, and recruitment.
