Position Details

The Office of Admissions at The University of Tampa has a position available for an Assistant Director of Admissions for Enrollment Transfer. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, this position is responsible for the recruitment and management of potential transfer students from both 2-year and 4-year institutions from all 50 states. This individual should be creative and resourceful and  should maintain an entrepreneurial spirit as they focus on developing strategies and tactics to recruit, enroll and retain transfer students.

This position is designated as an essential employee and may be required to report to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to severe weather or other conditions.

Responsibilities
•    Work with student populations including Transfers students, Readmit students, Post Baccalaureate students, and Military Veteran students.
•    Recruit and provide transfer counseling, planning, and pre-enrollment guidance to prospective transfer students serving as the main point of contact for transfer student applicants. 
•    Directly correspond with prospective transfer students.
•    Consult students on the UT transfer process.
•    Participate in the on-going functions of the Admissions Office including special events.
•    Conduct presentations, school visits, college programs and off-campus receptions. 
•    Review and analyze student applications.
•    Plan, implement, and attend special transfer student events. 
•    Assist students and families with general financial aid questions. 
•    Serve as liaison with various university and community college constituencies. 
•    Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications
•    Earned Bachelor's degree.
•    Minimum of two years’ experience in admissions, recruitment, higher education, K-12 system, or marketing related field.
•    Strong written communication and public speaking skills.
•    Strong computer skills with the knowledge or ability to quickly learn The University of Tampa’s software programs such as Workday, SLATE, and Microsoft Office.
•    Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills needed as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
•    Ability to work events during evening and weekend hours as permitted.
•    Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license).

•     Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Preferred qualifications

•    Earned Master’s degree.
•    Strong organizational and event planning skills.
•    Effective interpersonal skills and ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
•    Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
•    Ability to establish rapport and to build strong working relationships with a wide variety of people and possess a demonstrated commitment to diverse populations.
•    Ability to work independently on tasks with minimal supervision.
•    Team player with empathy and respect for others.

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer – Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Evenings and weekends may be required
