Description

 

Manages the daily operations of Admissions Processing area, which includes overseeing processes to manage admissions related documents, evaluated transfer credit, and making facilitating admissions decisions. Oversees the activities of the staff in planning, goal setting and other facets of admissions processing activities.

  • Supervises and trains staff responsible for imaging, data-entry, credit evaluation and facilitate Admissions decisions.
  • Coordinates the College Review process and serves as the primary liaison to academic colleges regarding college-level admission decisions.
  • Responsible for the execution of ongoing initiatives to improve the efficiency of processing documents and generating admission decisions.
  • Assesses communications delivered from Peoplesoft and leads efforts, in collaboration with Enrollment Services Marketing and Communication, to update annually.
  • Assesses customer service provided to students and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding national and regional admission processing trends as well as issues unique to the University of Houston.
  • Participates in the revision and maintenance of the policies and procedures for admission processing in the Office of Admissions.
  • May prepare office publications and reports including newsletters, website updates, office brochures, and statistical reports.
  • Serves on various administrative committees, represents the university on external committees, and participates in internal and external international student programs.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelors and 3 years experience

    Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Preferred: Master's degree. Experience: Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

    Experience will not be considered in lieu of education.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
