Assistant Director, Academic Programs – MSCF Program – Tepper School of Business

Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business is searching for an Assistant Director of Academic Programs to join their MSCF team.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing support by advising the MSCF Data Science Certificate students and various other student services tasks and projects. This role is responsible for managing the MSCF alumni activities and promoting an active and engaging alumni base.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Serve as initial point of contact for MSCF Data Science Certificate students to enhance their academic experience while enrolled in the MSCF Data Science program.  This includes registering students for courses and performing degree audit.

  • From conception to post-event, manage MSCF alumni events in alignment with MSCF goals. Specific responsibilities include logistics such as venue, catering, AV, list generation and invitation design and coordination; preparation of leadership and staff briefings; backend of events in Emma, Salesforce, and social media; on-site management, and post event analysis. This also includes ensuring accurate and complete alumni database records.

  • Work with MSCF Director to create, design and execute strategies for the development of comprehensive alumni communications plans and policies designed to engage alumni, encourage engagement, and foster connection between MSCF and its community of alumni and friends.  This includes managing all MSCF Alumni Relations communications.

  • Manages academic forms for all students MSCF students. This includes voucher petitions, change of grade forms, and any other forms that need to be sent to the registrar’s office.

  • Generate various reports in connection to student grades for both New York and Pittsburgh students.

  • Manages the MSCF Summer Internship course. Ensure students are registered for the course and submit their assignment at the end of the course.  This also includes working with the Office of International Education in regard to CPT and OPT for all MSCF students.

  • Class Gift - Creating class gift crowdfunding initiatives and other means of raising money for the MSCF class gift. Arrange group meetings with class reps to discuss methods on how to promote the crowdfunding pages via social media platforms.

  • Responsible for morning classroom technology set-up and proctoring all MSCF exams.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 3-5 years of related experience required

  • Strong computer proficient, including Microsoft Office, as well as an ability to adapt and learn future technologies

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Additional Information:

  • Typical Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:00pm. An alternate work schedule allowing for evening and weekend hours will be required on occasion.

In accordance with the pay transparency legislation set forth by NY the corresponding salary range for this position, if placed in NY ranges between $78,000-$82,000.
