Advertised Job Summary
The Darla Moore School of Business invites applications for an Assistant Dean of Operations, Chief Operations Officer position. Reporting to the dean, the Assistant Dean of Operations, Chief Operations Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring and coordinating financial modeling and reporting, student financial services and operations of the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. Salary is determined by budget considerations.
Minimum Qualifications
MBA, CPA, CGFO (Certified Government Finance Officer), or Master of Accountancy and 6 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Fluency with all Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of governmental accounting fiscal policies and procedures as they relate to administrative and business practices. Knowledge of USC policies and procedures, state and Federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to business activities of the DMSB. Banner and/or USC experience in related areas. Ability to plan, organize and direct complex financial, administrative, and support activities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively. Managerial experience.

Submits and monitors applicable Board of Trustees approved student program fees. Oversees Budget and Operations Accountant in monitoring student billing and distribution of student awards. Assist Leadership Team in designing award process. Serves as single point of contact and liaison with USC Financial Services, Bursar Office and USC Financial Aid Office. Ensures awards are within spendable budgets/limits.

Works with the Senior Associate Dean of Academics and Research. Implements and oversees Undergraduate and Graduate operations, including monitoring enrollments in classes each semester to ensure minimum enrollments are met in conjunction with Dean and Senior Associate Dean.

Assists Budget Director with revenue model for DMSB Leadership Team based on enrollment targets for inclusion in the 3-year plan, and assists as needed with special projects, including analyzing annual tuition and credit hour by department to calculate cost per credit hour for faculty. Prepare periodic costing model for graduate programs.

Provide financial oversight for the Office of Information and Technology and the Office of Career Management, including supervision of both directors. Responsible for management and oversight of academic and space scheduling as well as Welcome Center staff. Provides oversight of receivables and invoicing for special programs and systems for DMSB.

Assist Senior Director of HR with HR issues as needed. Act as back-up in approval process for payroll actions entered in PeopleSoft HCM as needed. Work with Senior Associate Dean of Academics and Research and Senior Director of HR with monitoring/reporting load fulfillment of faculty by department and to verify overload payments for faculty. Oversee maintenance of DMSB payroll database, payroll reconciliation process and resolution of any payroll differences. Assist with bonus/raise pool and Additional Duties/Responsibilities (ADR) processes.

Serves as a member of senior staff. Participates in strategic planning and assessment to align with the college’s mission and goals. Manage special projects and assignments for the dean’s office. Prepares special reports for the deans. Develop and help implement DMSB policies and procedures. Work with other colleges to negotiate and draft Memorandums of Understanding
(MOUs).
