The Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden Center for Excellence in Inter-professional Practice, Education, and Innovation (CEIPEI) provides opportunities for active learning, promotes interprofessional collaboration, and stimulates innovation in nursing education and practice. The CEIPEI is accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) . The Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP), a certificate within the School of Nursing’s graduate program, is currently the only accredited graduate level WOC program in the United States. Offered in both online and on-campus formats, the WOCNEP recruits students from across the nation. Our MSN in School Health is the first School Nurse Certificate Program based upon the National Association of School Nurses’ (NASN) Framework for the 21st Century School Nursing Practice™. |
Posting Summary | Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean Baccalaurate Programs, the Assistant Dean III-Nursing Student Coach & Retention Specialist utilizes a whole-person framework to identify at-risk nursing students, provide student-centered coaching and cohort-specific interventions to promote nursing academic success, progression, and student retention. Provides nursing content-specific coaching and tutoring to assist students in development of clinical reasoning and judgment related to academic and professional developmental strategies. The Nursing Student Coach & Retention Specialist coordinates with senior nursing administration, faculty, and staff to design and implement data-driven initiatives to promote inclusive excellence, equity, and retention of nursing students. Strategies for academic coaching and success may include personalized retention activities, (for individual and groups of students) in person and synchronous and asynchronous web-based learning. The Nursing Student Coach & Retention Specialist collaborates with nursing faculty to facilitate student utilization of educational product support (e.g., ATI resources) to promote course and programmatic student success. Informs faculty, co-adjuncts, and staff knowledge regarding best practices of academic coaching, retention and student performance. Uses internal and external resources to make strategic referrals to address the needs of student social determinants of health that impact student success. Functions as an experienced nursing professional with strong skills in planning, organizing, information integration, decision-making and attaining results. Demonstrates excellent leadership and interpersonal skills in order to develop cooperative working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, and students in the RSNC and across the campus and University. This individual contributes to student orientation sessions and open houses, supports RSNC, the university, and the community at large, through participation in committees, task forces, and other school and community events. Furthermore, the SNC Nursing Student Coach & Retention Specialist assists with policies and proposals, and maintains communications, systems, records, statistics, reports, and documents relative to progression and retention in the prelicensure program. |

Work Arrangement | Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
