Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Dean II for the Office of Academic Services. The Assistant Dean II reports to the Associate Dean at the School of Engineering- Undergraduate Education. The position  oversees recruitment programming and communications in order to raise our visibility and engage with prospective and admitted students, parents/guardians, secondary education leaders and teachers, university partners, and other key stakeholders. 
Among the key duties of this position are the following
  • Develops and implements a strategic and dynamic recruitment plan while managing a collaborative effort toward understanding and grasping the ever-changing trends in student interest and enrollment behaviors. 
  • Oversees the planning, orchestrating and delivery of undergraduate recruitment and outreach events, both in person and virtually. 
  • Manages the Engineering Ambassador Program including student development and event assignment to infuse the student experiences into recruitment programming such as engineering tours, virtual info sessions, live chats, open house, and other prospective student events. 
  • Produces creative content to promote events and enhance the branding of the School of Engineering Undergraduate Education programs including social media campaigns, direct mailings/emails, brochures, presentations, posters, and flyers. 
  • Maintains a high-quality, comprehensive Undergraduate Education website to communicate the school’s value proposition to targeted audiences. 
  • Collaborates with the deans, undergraduate program directors and director of communication & marketing regarding content.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in marketing, public relations, or advertising actively participating in successful strategic communication campaigns across a variety of channels including traditional, web, and digital.   
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. 
  • Experience in the higher education market.
  • Experience executing social media marketing campaigns, search marketing campaigns, and digital marketing platforms.
  • Marketing copywriting experience for print and digital platforms. 
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead an energetic team; recognize the skill sets and talents of the students and staff and provide professional development opportunities to enhance them.
  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to engage prospective and current students, faculty, alumni, and parents in the recruitment and enrollment of all new students. 
  • Admissions marketing experience with a proven record in the identification, admission, recruitment and enrollment of prospective students, comprehensive and strategic enrollment planning, and shaping classes to meet the University mission. 
  • Google analytics and landing page development. 
  • Some experience with digital video production and/or graphic design.
