Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT:

A. Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years relevant work experience OR Associates Degree and five (5) years relevant work experience. Relevant work experience must demonstrate ability to perform job functions.

Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills in: Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Demonstrated proficiency in communication and analytical skills. Ability to work independently. Experience in and/or comfortable with database systems. A driver’s license is required to carry out some of the duties of the job description.

B. Preferred Other:

• Experience with post-secondary education.
• Experience and/or commitment to cultural diversity, affirmative action, and working with low income and educationally underprepared populations.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF DUTIES

The Assistant Coordinator of Institutional Advancement (ACCIA) reports to the Coordinator of Institutional Advancement (CIA) of the Educational Opportunity Center (EOC, center), a division of Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC, college) and performs the following duties:

• Assists the CIA in the planning and implementation of all departmental functions and activities relative to marketing, public relations, communications (including web and social media), recruitment, enrollment development, resource development, grants, fundraising, planning, research, special events, and government, alumni, and community relations;
• Assists the CIA in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to the department and the center;
• Works closely with other EOC staff and others to support EOC functions and services;
• Assists with the coordination, planning, oversight, and implementation of EOC special events;
• Assists with the oversight and maintenance of records and systems related to departmental functions;
• Works in conjunction with other center staff in the development and implementation of the EOC’s outreach and recruitment activities and materials;
• Works with the CIA and other EOC designated staff to identify and establish communication with agencies, organizations, schools and firms to support EOC programs, services and functions;
• Assists the CIA in serving as a liaison to the EOC retirees, alumni, and community partners;
• Researches, pursues, writes, and may coordinate grants.
• Maintains records and assists in the development of reports, including compiling of statistics and data;
• Monitors and reports on departmental and office procedures;
• Makes recommendations to improve the operations of departmental and office procedures;
• Develops and maintains computerized reports and databases that support office functions;
• Promotes and maintains positive communications and interactions with EOC staff and students as well as other “customers” in performance of duties;
• Keeps Coordinator informed at all times of departmental activities and issues.
• Cooperates with other center offices and staff, as appropriate;
• Enforces EOC regulations;
• Attends and participates in meetings as necessary and assigned;
• Will work a flexible schedule that can include evening or weekend hours, as needed;
• Supervises and evaluates staff as directed;
• Represents the CIA as directed;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a 12-month position with a salary range of $42,000-$46,000.
