The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Cleveland State University invites applications for an Assistant College Lecturer position to begin August 19, 2024. (AOS) Area of Specialization: Open; 
(AOC) Area of Competence: Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science, Technology Ethics, Logic.
Teaching duties will consist of four courses per semester including Data Ethics, Engineering Ethics, Introductory Logic, and/or Health Care Ethics, as well as upper-level courses such as Philosophy of Mind and/or Philosophy of Science. Normal department service. The applicant should speak to their ability to teach these courses in the cover letter.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Philosophy;
  • Evidence of teaching experience;
  • Ability to teach Data Ethics and/or Engineering Ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Philosophy;
  • Ability to teach courses in at least one of the following areas: philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, introductory logic, and philosophy of language;
  • Evidence of teaching achievement, especially with respect to courses such as Data Ethics or Engineering Ethics.
