Position Summary
This position will serve as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator within the UNC Endocrine, Diabetes, and Obesity Clinical Research Unit (EnDO CRU) . The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator assists with the execution of study protocols, including pre-screening and recruiting study participants, conducting study visits, processing biological laboratory samples, and collecting, entering, and reviewing study data. They will work closely with faculty on an investigator-initiated study involving dialysis patients in addition to working on other industry-sponsored clinical trials. The chosen candidate will serve as an internal resource for other research assistants in the unit. The UNC EnDO CRU conducts clinical research within the endocrinology field. Trials in the UNC EnDO CRU have helped develop cutting-edge treatments for diabetes and medical weight management. We have conducted over 200 research studies over more than 20 years. Our research has included trials of new medicines, insulin pumps, glucose-monitoring devices, interventions to prevent complications, strategies for weight management, and much more. We aim to develop and aid in the creation of cutting-edge treatment for endocrinology, diabetes, and medical weight management.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally. Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team. Must be able to use considerable judgement and skills in performing work assignments.Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in clinical research and familiarity with diabetes, obesity, and related co-morbidities. Experience with Epic and data entry (particularly in REDCap) is also preferred.GCP certification and experience with processing biological samples are a plus.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to move 25 lb. boxes of dry ice, 100 feet, from the lab to the Fed Ex drop off area with or without accommodation.
