Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

The Kwong  Lab is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRC) to perform administrative support duties related to the collection of clinical data and/or the coordination of clinical studies in chronic liver disease. The position provides clinical exposure and research experience, with collection of clinical data from patients in the hospital and in the outpatient setting over the course of several follow-up visits. Work under supervision of the principal investigator and/or study coordinator/supervisor.

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology has a long tradition of major contributions in basic research, a new commitment to clinical and outcomes research, a track record of training fellows for academic careers, and a longitudinal commitment to providing care for patients with complex gastrointestinal and liver diseases.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • General understanding of scientific methods and medical terminology
  • Experience with RedCAP and EPIC


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

  • Two-year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • General knowledge of medical terminology.


CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • Working toward certification(s) to perform basic patient measurements and tests, such as phlebotomy and EKG.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.
  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
