Position Description


Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
The School of Health Sciences at the University of Pacific invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position as an Assistant Clinic Professor of Audiology in the Audiology Department. The primary purpose of this position is clinic coordination, teaching and mentorship of audiology students, public relations, and participating in a culture that promotes humanistic education at the highest possible standards.
Essential Functions:
  • Collaborate with faculty, department leadership, practice setting administrators, managers and preceptors to manage the clinical placements and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate external clinical placements.
  • Expand University of the Pacific’s network of affiliate sites.
  • Supervise database management of site placements and affiliation agreements.
  • Mentor and advise students throughout the placement process.
  • Teach courses (may include, but not limited to):
  • Externship Seminar, Professional Issues, and Audiology Practicum classes.
  • Engage and facilitate internal clinical training experiences.
  • Perform and supervise a full array of audiological services as necessary each semester (including threshold evaluation, speech audiometry, immittance testing, and otoacoustic emissions, counseling and hearing aid services).
  • Serve as a voting clinical faculty member in departmental operations.
  • Serve on committees at department, college, and university level.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Au.D. or Ph.D. degree in Audiology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience prior to implementation of AuD (i.e., Master’s degree), or a third (3rd) or fourth (4th) year audiology extern currently enrolled in Au.D. program with a projected graduation date of 2022.
    • Clinical service experience with patient-centered and evidence-based approach.
    • Current, temporary, or permanent California Audiologist license or a Provisional Audiologist license and full licensure within three (3) months of hire.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous student supervision and teaching.
    • Current California Dispensing Audiologist License.
    • Proficiency, training or experience in database organization.
    • Experience in marketing, public relations.
    • Proficiency or training in management.
    • Highly organized. Excellent in time management.

    Schedule is dependent on the course and department needs. 
    • Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone.

    • Occasional lifting to twenty-five (25) pounds.
