This position is a 10 month clinical track faculty position.

Responsibilities
  • Key responsibilities include teaching the concepts of health and wellness, coordinating student internships, and coordinating the WCHP First Year Experience. Additional responsibilities include pursuing clinical activities, student advisement, professional and university service, and inter-professional collaboration.
  • The candidate will teach 1-2 courses per semester in the areas of health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness practices.
  • The candidate will coordinate internships by developing and maintaining relationships with internship sites, meeting with students who are interested in internships to help them select and apply for an appropriate experience, completing necessary administrative processes, providing a pedagogical structure for students, and serving as a point of communication for students and internship sites.
  • The candidate will assist students in achieving success in their education by performing advising roles including: assisting students with course selection and progression towards graduation, and providing career support, resources, information, and referrals to appropriate services in the community and university.
  • The candidate will participate in Health, Wellness, and Occupational Studies department level meetings and committees, provide support for student recruitment and retention, and engage with the WCHP Faculty Assembly. 

Supervision Exercised:
The candidate will engage in a collaborative relationship with the Administrative Coordinator who supports the program.
Supervision Received
The candidate will receive direct supervision from the director of the Health, Wellness, and Occupational Studies program.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Master’s degree, terminal degree preferred, in Public Health, Occupational Therapy, Health Promotion, or a related field, plus up to 3 years of relevant experience in teaching and/or program coordination, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
