Summary

The Department of Applied Sciences invites applications for a qualified-rank, nine-month renewable appointment Assistant Teaching Professor with a start date of August 2024.

Essential Functions

1) Responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program director.
2) Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of clinical experiences for the concentration(s) students are enrolled in.
3) Provide clinical instruction and document the evaluation and progression of clinical performance leading to clinical competence.
4) Visit students and spend time watching and evaluating students in the clinical setting.
5) Teach a class each semester.
6) Conduct open labs.
7) Maintain all clinical records and affiliation agreements.
8) Schedule students• clinical rotations and monitor weekly time records.
9) weekly access to students' exam load and students' competencies in the clinical setting
10) maintain relationships and correspondence with the clinical instructors and the clinical sites.
11) recruit and market new Clinical sites
12) participate in DMS program events.
3) complete accreditation reports and self-studies.
14) will participate in the accreditation process.


Minimum Qualifications

1) possess an academic degree no lower than an associate degree and at least equal to that for which the graduates are being prepared
2) possess the appropriate credential(s) specific to the concentration(s) that s/he coordinates
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Registered
Vascular Technologist preferred.
3) have documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and
educational theories and techniques
4) have a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field. Documentation of experience in educational theories and techniques may include completed college courses, seminars, or in-service sessions on topics including, but not limited to, learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology, or assessment techniques.
