Position Description:
The Heritage College is seeking an Assistant Clinical Professor and Discipline Director in Psychiatry to participate and lead in the delivery of our integrated medical curriculum on one of our Ohio Campuses, Athens, Cleveland, or Dublin. The selected candidate will join a diverse group of clinical faculty in the Department of Specialty Medicine .
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participate on teams to prepare and deliver active learning sessions for osteopathic medical students, including materials for pre-learning, in-classroom learning, and assessment of the learner. Participate in both classroom based and clinical skills teaching sessions, which are delivered both in person and via distance learning technology.
  • Serve as advisor and mentor to osteopathic medical students.
  • Collaborate and participate in departmental, college and/or university activities.
  • Participate in service activities as assigned which might include committee assignments, admissions interviews, or other service activities.
  • Develop and deliver psychiatric curricular content for osteopathic students as a part of the Pathways to Health and Wellness curriculum.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the psychiatric discipline-specific education at HCOM and recommend and implement changes as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:


· Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
· Graduate of an accredited psychiatry residency program
· ABMS or AOA Board Certification in psychiatry
· Active medical license issued by the State of Ohio Medical Board
· At least 3 years clinical practice experience

Preferred Qualifications:


Preference will be given to osteopathic physicians and those with significant experience developing, evaluating, and/or delivering medical school curriculum.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, while also considering internal equity.
