Assistant Clinical Director, PhD Program in Clinical Psychology

Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology


The Assistant Clinical Director will have primary responsibility for the Derner Internship Consortium, the program’s partially affiliated psychology internship, established in 2013 and accredited by the APA in 2015.  This individual will also teach one course (TBA) each semester and assist the Director in the administration of other training activities. 


1)    Coordinate recruitment and selection procedures for six intern training positions annually.

2)    Maintain membership in the American Psychological Association (APA), Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), and the National Matching Service (NMS).

3)    Consult with member sites to assure compliance with APA Standards of Accreditation and to coordinate training activities.

4)    Prepare and submit Annual Review Online (ARO) to APA.

5)    Prepare self-study and schedule site visit for re-accreditation in 2022.

6)    Assist the Director in administration of other training activities.

  • A doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a NY State license in Psychology.

  • At least 2 years administrative responsibility for maintaining and documenting accreditation standards in a psychology graduate training program, hospital, or mental health clinic.
  • At least 2 years clinical training experience with predoctoral clinical psychology graduate students.
  • The Assistant Clinical Director is a two day, 16 hours per week, 11 months per year position.
