Assistant Clinical Coordinator: School of Medical Science

Summary

Under general supervision, provides support for the Clinical Coordinator, and Director of Clinical Education (DCE) by ensuring that all student clinical records are maintained and documented for accreditation clinical/preceptor site data is collected and up to date, and facilitating communication between preceptors, clinical sites, and students. This position will be hired at half time with the intention of increasing the hours to full time in the future.

Essential Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and update preceptor database (contact info, students assigned, license, certification)
  • Provides ongoing communication as needed for clinical preceptors
  • Assist with coordination, scheduling, and confirming of all clinical rotations
  • Assist with coordination of the student clinical rotation schedule
  • Provide for ongoing clinical preceptor development and clinical site review
  • Attends all scheduled PA Program Committee and Clinical Year Committee meetings
  • When Clinical Coordinator is not available, keep minutes of the Clinical Year Committee meetings and files in appropriate database
  • Assists with accreditation self-study and application preparation
  • Assists in other duties as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator

Desired Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree desired but not mandatory
  • History of administrative professional experience
  • Experience in higher education and/or health care is desired but not mandatory
  • Computer knowledge or word processing applications, internet and intranet use, spreadsheets, and database creation and management essential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and keyboarding skills
  • Must have ability to handle multiple priorities, must be able to balance many tasks, and have a close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be courteous, people-oriented, professional, and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be available for occasional evenings and weekends
