Job Description Summary
The department has a rich history in the scholarship of pedagogy, applied medicine and the advancement of pathology.  The candidate should be committed to the Auburn tradition of training practice ready veterinarians.   Auburn is collectively dedicated to residency training in anatomic pathology through communal interactions between faculty and residents with enhanced resident rounds in various fields and serving as a Davis-Thompson Foundation repository. 
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the anatomic pathology service.  Service duties include performing post-mortem examinations and serving as a senior pathologist for the surgical biopsy service. Training and supervision of anatomic pathology residents and graduate students combined with clinical training of veterinary students will be a major expectation.  Case accessions for 2020 included approximately 2600 surgical biopsies and 500 necropsies.  
Didactic teaching responsibilities include participation in the professional veterinary medical curriculum and graduate curriculum.  Pedagogy and scholarly activity will be synergistic with the College’s research, teaching and clinical service missions. 
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include D.V.M. degree (or equivalent) and diplomate status in anatomic pathology from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, the European College of Veterinary Pathologists, or the Royal College of Pathologists at the time the appointment begins. 
Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include excellence in didactic classroom or small group instruction, excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and a record of teaching/educational scholarship.
