The Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford (UICOMR) seeks a full-time board-certified family medicine physician to join our faculty as Assistant Clerkship Director. UICOMR is a well-established 4-year regional campus of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, one of the largest medical schools in the United States. 



  • Faculty supervision of the clinical care provided by both medical students and residents in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Direct clinic patient care and management of a personal panel of patients.
  • Excellence in clinical teaching of medical students in the ambulatory setting.
  • Presentation of didactics to support the Family Medicine clerkship.
  • Presentation of didactics to support residency curriculum.
  • Advising and mentoring of medical students and residents.
  • Participation in resident and faculty recruitment activities.
  • Participation in Family Medicine clerkship activities, e.g. orientation, mid-clerkship feedback, student evaluation, didactics and grading.
  • Participation in scholarly activity to promote medical education and/or Family Medicine at large.
  • Participation in various committees and functions to advance medical education within the department and the College of Medicine.
  • Participation in various committees related to the mission of the College of Medicine.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or DO or its foreign equivalent
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine
  • Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine or Illinois license-eligible

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in medical student education
  • Full-spectrum FM including pediatrics, adult and OB
  • Fellowship training beyond residency
