Assistant Chemistry Professor

POSITION:
The Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering at Cameron University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position for the academic year 2024-2025 beginning in August 2024. The Department has 6 full time faculty members and offers programs leading to BS degrees in Chemistry (including ACS Certified) and an AAS in Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to teach general chemistry, organic chemistry, and organic analysis in support of our programs.  The successful applicant will also be expected to teach general education courses for non-STEM majors in a variety of modalities including online.

SUPERVISION:
The position will report to the chairperson of the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Chemistry specializing in organic chemistry from a regionally accredited university. Applicants with ABD may apply but if hired they will begin at the instructor level if the doctoral degree is not placed on transcript prior to August.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants with demonstrated excellence in teaching chemistry in the past two years at the undergraduate level will receive preference.

SALARY:
Commensurate with education and experience.
