Position Summary: 

The Assistant Athletic Trainer, under the direction of the Director of Athletic Training, is responsible for the daily athletic training needs of assigned intercollegiate athletic teams as well as overall care and maintenance of the athletic training facilities. This person must provide exceptional personal care for the student-athletes and sport programs, as assigned to them, with regards to safety, injury prevention, rehabilitation, healthy eating and living and health insurance matters. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field/concentration. A minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience as a certified athletic trainer. Possess state athletic training licensure, in good standing, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or eligible to pursue upon being hired; Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets and relevant databases. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

*Experience working with healthcare professionals from variety of disciplines.

*Work experience that demonstrates ability to work successfully with a diverse student population.

*The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously.

*Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.

*Strong oral and written communication skills.

*Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

*Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules

*Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record

Preferred:

*Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field/concentration.

*Three (3) or more years of experience at the Division I collegiate level.

*Experience managing multiple sports as an athletic trainer.
