Friends University is seeking to fill the Assistant Athletic Director of Operations position in Wichita Kansas. The Assistant Athletic Director of Operations is responsible for the management and administration home game operations, the Homecoming Golf Classic and Student Athlete Awards Celebration, supervising employees, helping with eligibility and compliance, and serving as the Student Athlete Leadership Team Liaison. Manage all event operations for the athletic department. Train and supervise Graduate Assistant Interns to manage events. Duties include but are not limited to: directly supervising events or training designee, hiring, training, and supervising all game workers, managing concession inventory, and other duties involving home events.

Skills & Requirements

Two years’ experience in intercollegiate athletics is preferred, preferably at the NAIA level. 

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.  Emphasis in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Sports Administration, Accounting, Student Services, or related field.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.  The ability to work with diverse populations is required. The ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner is required. Will support the Christian mission and values of Friends University and the values of the NAIA Champions of Character.  Must be able to carry and/or lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Strong management and organization skills are required.  The ability to compile data and prepare, write, and review reports is required; must have excellent computer skills and the ability to learn compliance systems.
