Description

Baylor University seeks candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering starting in August 2024.

The position is open to candidates in mechanical, aerospace, or related disciplines with expertise in an area related to thermofluids/aeronautics/aeroelasticity; theoretical, computational, and experimental research thrusts will be equally considered. Candidates are encouraged to apply who have a research and teaching focus that compliments departmental strengths, which include but are not limited to: the design of thermo-fluids systems, combustion and propulsion, advanced atomization and sprays, laser diagnostics for flow measurements, multiphase flow, hypersonics, renewable energy, in-flight ice accretion physics, gas turbine blade aerodynamics and cooling, bioinspired fluid dynamics, colloidal self-assembly, and thermal management.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Outstanding communication skills, a commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated research achievements and publication record, and a commitment to professional activities. 
  • Post-doctoral research experience and other related industrial experience will also be considered.
