Job Description
The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport Management to begin Fall 2024. Rank will be determined upon qualifications. Primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate courses in Sport Management and/or other classes based upon knowledge and expertise. This is a full-time, 9-month appointment that will require teaching, scholarly activity and grantsmanship, service, and student mentoring/advisement.

Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or related field. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred by the time of appointment
To be considered for Associate Professor rank, a minimum of five (5) years of experience at the assistant professor or comparable rank is required
Demonstrated pattern of scholarly productivity
Demonstrated pattern of teaching excellence
Demonstrated pattern of advising and mentoring students
Demonstrated pattern of service at the university and professional levels
Experience and/or training to utilize technology in course delivery (e.g., learning management system, online pedagogy).
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) or more years of experience teaching undergraduate/graduate sport management courses,
Teaching expertise in at least two, and preferably more than three, content areas of sport management; (1) sport communications/media, (2) sport finance/economics, (3) sport entrepreneurship/strategy, (4) sport analytics, and (5) e-sport,
Evidence of high-quality teaching, student mentorship and engagement,
Active research agenda in sport management with demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality, high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
Documented success with securing external funding
Relevant industry experience with significant industry contacts.
