Job Description

In addition to didactic and clinical teaching in the PharmD program, it is expected that this tenure-track faculty position will establish and maintain an active research and clinical practice at the Boise VA Medical Center. It is anticipated that this position will maintain practice in a general ambulatory care setting, however specialty practice is negotiable and should support the research interests of the faculty. Options for beginning faculty include: the ability to negotiate the timeline for the pre-tenure probationary period, start-up funds, and faculty development through teaching/scholarship mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching: didactic/laboratory/case studies teaching; course coordination; APPE/IPPE precepting (30%)
  • Service: College and University level committee work, professional service (10%)
  • Scholarship: develop and maintain an active scholarship program commensurate with a tenure track faculty (30-40%)
  • Clinical Service: establish and maintain a clinical practice in ambulatory care/ambulatory specialty (20-30%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited Pharmacy
  • Completion of an accredited PGY1 residency training program OR fellowship training program OR equivalent clinical and/or research experience
  • Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in Idaho
  • US citizenship (required due to affiliation with Veterans Affairs)
  • Evidence of scholarly activity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (i.e., MPH, PhD, etc)
  • Research fellowship
  • Completion of a PGY2 residency program
  • Board certification
  • Teaching experience

Additional Information

Salary will be between $118,000 - $135,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
