Assistant/Associate Professor - Pediatric Advanced Imaging Cardiologist

Position Description:

The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a fellowship trained pediatric non-invasive imaging cardiologist with advanced training in echocardiography and cross sectional imaging in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Children's Wisconsin. Appointment is anticipated at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.

The successful candidate will join a nationally recognized academic imaging team within the Section of Cardiology and Department of Pediatrics. Our busy imaging group performs and interprets nearly 12,000 echocardiograms and over 600 cardiac MRI’s and 150 cardiac CT scans per year. These studies are performed at the Milwaukee campus as well as at our satellite campuses throughout Wisconsin. At the time of appointment, the candidate must have completed at least 12 months of specialized training or equivalent experience in pediatric non-invasive imaging with emphasis on echocardiography as well as cardiac MRI and/or cardiac CT beyond the 3 years of core pediatric cardiology fellowship. Additionally, they should be board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board of Pediatric Cardiology. The successful candidate should demonstrate ongoing commitment to clinical excellence as well as clinical, translational, and/or basic research. Clinical duties may include both general cardiology inpatient service and outpatient clinic. Participation in the educational mission of the section will be required.  Additional service and clinics in general cardiology can be negotiated. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2024.

The Herma Heart Institute is internationally recognized for excellence, particularly in the care of children with complex forms of congenital heart disease. The Herma Heart Institute provides comprehensive pediatric and adult congenital cardiovascular services throughout the Midwest and consists of 30 pediatric cardiology faculty members, 3 pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, 7 pediatric cardiac intensivists, a dedicated cardiac anesthesia team and a cadre of highly invested and talented nurse practitioners and physician assistants.  Opportunities abound for a candidate interested in joining a team with a commitment to elite clinical care and innovation in basic science, clinical, and translational research.

Position Requirements:

Candidates should be board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology, and currently hold or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin.

Rank upon appointment will be commensurate with experience.
