The Department of Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management (HESRM) at The University of Mississippi is seeking applications for Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Director for Sport and Recreation Administration (SRA) program. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor as determined by experience and scholarly achievement. The successful candidate may begin as early as January 2022.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a research/scholarly agenda, teach undergraduate and/or graduate SRA courses and participate in service opportunities. Other responsibilities include performing administrative duties as Program Director for the SRA program, mentoring students, participating in curriculum revision, and creating new courses. The candidate will oversee program assessment and evaluation and work with other SRA and HESRM faculty and staff in student recruitment and retention activities. HESRM (http://hesrm.olemiss.edu) is home to 17 faculty, 3 staff members, and approximately 900 students from around the world. HESRM currently offers three undergraduate programs (Public Health & Health Sciences; Exercise Science, and; Sport and Recreation Administration), four master’s degree programs (MPH, M.S. in Exercise Science, M.S. in SRA, and M.S. in Sport Analytics), and a Ph.D. program in Health and Kinesiology with three emphasis areas (Health Behavior, Exercise Science, and Sport and Recreation).
