The Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites nominations and applications for a 9-month Tenure Track position in Occupational Therapy, at the Assistant or Associate Rank to begin August 1, 2024. 

Key Areas of Responsibility

The successful candidate will engage in teaching, research, and service. We are seeking candidates with diverse clinical backgrounds to complement current faculty experience. Opportunities exist to maintain clinical practice.

The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Degree in occupational therapy (BS, MOT, or OTD) and
  • An earned terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc, DHS, or Post-Professional OTD) in occupational therapy or a related discipline. Individuals who are “all but dissertation” (ABD) will be considered; however, the degree must be awarded within 12 months of the first semester of employment.
  • Initially certified by NBCOT
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in Tennessee
  • Experience teaching in a classroom or clinical setting
  • Ability and willingness to teach courses related to delivery of occupational therapy content
  • Evidence of productive professional engagement
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical practice as an occupational therapist
  • An active research program or demonstrated scholarly potential
  • Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s strategic plan
  • Demonstrate an ability to present a positive and professional attitude when engaging with students, colleagues, clinical partners and clients, the local community, and the national professional community.
