Assistant/Associate Professor of Entertainment Producing

Position Summary:
Biola University, a private Christian institution in Southern California, seeks applications for a full-time faculty position in Entertainment Producing for its nationally recognized School of Cinema & Media Arts, beginning August 2024.

Qualifications:
A terminal degree in Producing for Film, Television or a related discipline is preferred.  At least five (5) years professional industry experience is required, as is a broad understanding of the role of the producer across contemporary media platforms including one or more of the following:  feature and/or independent film, television, digital/streaming media, non-fiction, game development, short-form/branded content, studio management, and related fields.

The ideal candidate has professional and teaching experience in areas such as content development, audience targeting, production management, virtual production, budgeting, financing, distribution as well as emerging markets/technology.

Responsibilities:
Faculty responsibilities include teaching, academic advising, application review, committee assignments, as well as service to the School of Cinema & Media Arts and Biola University.

The teaching load is 12-15 units per semester (with overload opportunities), in addition to continued professional work and/or research and scholarship.  

Faculty teach from established courses and are encouraged to enhance these courses and/or propose new courses to reflect new technologies, theories and global trends.

Hiring Range:
Assistant Professor: $74,489 - $80,929
Associate Professor: $87,577 - $99,061
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
