Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
The Assistant Professor of English will teach courses in the Department of English. The individual will be joining a vigorous department, innovative in its composition and literature programs. The department offers minors in English, writing and TESOL as well as graduate certificate programs in Professional Writing, Teaching of Writing and TESOL.
The primary purpose of the position would be to teach both low-level and advanced courses offered by the Department of English to its majors and non-majors.
Description of Work Continued:
The chosen candidate will be expected to teach courses in Composition (English 110 and English 120), African American Literature (English 220 and 223) as well as a Senior Capstone course (English 470).
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidates should possess an earned PhD in English with a concentration in African American Literature from an accredited institution.
