Job Description:

The College of Business (COB) at SUNY Poly is an AACSB-accredited business school. The COB offers five-degree programs: MS in Accounting (MSA), MBA in Technology Management, BS in Accounting, Business Administration, and Finance. We seek to fill one tenure-track position in Accounting at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on experience and educational attainment at the time of employment. The expected start date is January or August 2024. The new faculty member is expected to:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate Accounting courses such as Financial Accounting, Income Tax, Intermediate Accounting, Accounting Information Systems and Data Analytics, Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination, Auditing, etc.
  • Maintain an active scholarship, which should include applied or theoretical research, or pedagogical studies in Accounting or related fields that meet or exceed the requirements for AACSB's faculty qualification status (i.e., Scholarly Academic or Practice Academic).
  • Actively participate in SUNY Poly's institutional development of an advanced online learning environment.
  • Be actively involved in student advising and mentoring, assurance of learning, as well as committee service at all levels of SUNY Poly.
  • Engage in professional or academic activities in campus-based, local, regional or broader communities in an effort to make a positive impact and advance the recognition and reputation of the COB and SUNY Poly.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Salary Ranges: Assistant $115,000-$120,000 / Associate $120,000-$125,000

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD (or ABD) in Accounting or a closely related discipline from an institution accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized organization (preferably AACSB).
  • For a candidate with ABD status, employment is contingent on receipt of the PhD degree.
