Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:
Assistant / Associate Professor: Health. Tenure Track. This position will effectively perform duties and responsibilities of the position. The duties and responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in : Public Health & Health Care Administration and teaching graduate courses in: Master’s in Public Health; advise and mentor students; pursue a research agenda resulting in publications and extramural support; collaborate with both campus-based and field- based colleagues; provide service to the department, college, university and profession; Obtain graduate faculty status. This position is not remote. This position is based on campus at Lamar Univeristy in Beaumont, TX.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
Minimum Qualifications

  • An earned doctorate in one of the following: Public Health/Health Promotion/Community Health/ or related Health area.* *ABD candidates will be considered if in the semester of defending/graduating upon application
  • The faculty member must have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. Preference will be given to those applicants who have: prior teaching experience at the college level using both face-to-face traditional and online course delivery preferred; a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and evidence of scholarly activity as exemplified by published manuscripts and external funding is preferred; practical experience in health promotion, community health, health care administration, exercise programming for health and wellness, and experience with accredidation.
