The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Earth, Environmental and Marine Sciences (SEEMS) is seeking candidates to develop a research program in the broad area of Social-Ecological systems in Marine Environments at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are particularly interested in candidates that bring expertise in valuation of ecosystem services, cost-benefit analyses of environmental restoration, applied policy research, ecosystem management and environmental policy, economic geography, or coastal resiliency. This is an Assistant or Associate Professor ranked position and will teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the School. This is a full-time Tenure-Track faculty position beginning Fall 2018.
The minimum requirement is a Ph. D. from an accredited university in a social-ecological related science discipline.
Candidates appointed as Associate Professor must meet Departmental tenure requirements.
|Discipline Specific Required Qualifications||
Applicants should have established, vigorous research programs in a relevant field and experience in securing nationally competitive external research funding. Highly qualified applicants with strong research portfolios may qualify for significant supplemental startup equipment funds through the UTRGV Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention (STAR) funds.
